As a Registered Psychologist, Amanda treats mood disorders such as anxiety, depression and stress, personality disorders, addictions, self-esteem and most other individual issues. She also works with couples to improve relationships and resolve issues. Amanda has been a member of the Australian Psychological Society of Psychologists (APS) since 1998 and the American Psychological Association (APA) since 2003. Make time to enjoy the many cafes and beach when you visit Amanda. A trip on the ferry instead of driving also makes the experience relaxing.
Work, Career, Goal Achievement
Amanda has an additional registration as an Organisational Psychologist. This means she specialises in everything relating to the world of work and other areas of performance – for individuals, teams and organisations. Amanda is particularly interested in performance, goal achievement, work-person congruence, career transitions, purpose and meaning of life. Amanda is a Fellow with the APS College of Organisational Psychologists. She has a Master’s Degree and PhD in Organisational Psychology.
Amanda is also a Registered Professional Clinical Hypnotherapist. Hypnotherapy can successfully treat most concerns and conditions: from anxieties, addictions, performance, self-esteem and fertility blocks to needle phobia and other phobias, obsessive compulsive disorders and other difficulties.
Difficult people typically have personality disorders: narcissism, borderline, histrionic, avoidant and dependant.
Narcissistic people, in particular, rarely enter counselling. Rather, the people in relationships with them do, as they suffer in trying to relate with these abnormal people – who may be parents, friends, bosses, neighbours etc.
Life Works, is Amanda’s self-help manual designed for ordinary people with everyday problems. People who are learning the art of rediscovering themselves and transforming their relationships positively at home, in love, friendships, family and at work.
Designed to complement the “Life Works” book, this is a CD of meditations and guided healing processes. The CD has six individual meditations and runs for more than an hour. It includes an introductory explanation about meditation.
